Gifting holds a special place during Aani Thirumanjanam, reflecting the spirit of gratitude and devotion. This festival, celebrated in Tamil Nadu, is marked by offerings and gifts that symbolise respect and reverence, particularly at the Nataraja temples. Aani Thirumanjanam, observed in the Tamil month of Aani (June-July), involves elaborate rituals and ceremonies.
Traditionally, devotees offer milk and dairy products, as these are seen as pure and nourishing gifts for the deities as per local beliefs. Flowers, particularly jasmine and marigold, are also offered, adding a fragrant and colourful element to the worship. Modern gifts have also become popular, blending tradition with contemporary practices, allowing people to express their devotion in diverse ways.
