How Zepto launched Gift Card Storefront with Hubble’s API
Zepto is India’s fastest-growing quick commerce brand, known for delivering groceries and essentials to millions of users in under 10 minutes across major metros. With a focus on speed, convenience, and innovation, Zepto continuously looks for ways to improve and expand its digital offerings.
Zepto expanded into digital gifting by embedding a gift card storefront directly within its app using Hubble’s plug-and-play API. Instead of building a complex gift card marketplace or managing fulfillment logistics, Zepto integrated Hubble to power the backend instantly. The team retained full control of the user experience and payments while Hubble managed the catalog, delivery, and tracking.
Since launch, weekly adoption has surged. By July 2025, users had purchased over ₹8 Cr in gift cards in a single month, a 10X increase in volume in one Quarter, making this integration one of the most successful reward monetisation initiatives in Indian quick commerce.
The objective was to:
- Allow Zepto users to buy gift cards from top brands directly within the Zepto app
- Avoid internal catalog and logistics overhead
- Ensure fast go-live and enterprise-grade reliability
Hubble Solution
Zepto integrated Hubble’s Gifting API, which:
- Provides access to a rich catalogue of 500+ digital gift cards across categories (food, fashion, travel, etc.) from top brands.
- Handles inventory, delivery, status tracking, and vendor management
- Let Zepto fully own the user experience and payments flow in-app
